The key inspiration for establishing The ROOT Brands® social sharing business formula stemmed from a “desire to redefine business behavior,” said Thomas. Ten years ago, when his friend, John Salley, a former NBA basketball player, introduced him to Dr. Rahm, his future wife, he found his missing piece. Clayton launched The ROOT Brands® with a focus on detox as the foundation of health, addressing the major gap in the wellness industry. While many products provided quick fixes and surface-level solutions, The ROOT Brands® focused on addressing the foundational need of removing the toxins that cause the problems in the first place. “Detox is not a trend; it is the bedrock of true health,” added Thomas. “By prioritizing detoxing as the root driver for true health, our team built The ROOT Brands® to address that critical gap.”

Clayton’s years of expertise across distribution, sales, and formulation, along with his observations of Seattle’s tech giants like Amazon, Costco, Microsoft, and Starbucks, informed the creation of the organization’s distinctive business model. Witnessing their formative growth experiences while also watching the rise of social media over the last 20 years allowed him to envision an ecosystem incorporating societal influence, nanotechnology, and bioscience engineering.
