Naiyachon Tathong: Assisting Clients in Their Legal Battel

JTJB International Lawyers Co., Ltd. is a part of a global law firm JOSEPH TAN JUDE BENNY LLP, which is spread across 10 countries with more than 100 highly trained professionals in various legal practices. The organization’s main office traces its history back to 1988 when the practices of both of its founding partners, Joseph Tan and Jude Benny, were merged and renamed JOSEPH TAN JUDE BENNY LLP.

In 2005, JTJB International Lawyers’ launched its first office in Bangkok under the leadership of the organization’s Managing Partner, Mr. Naiyachon Tathong, Mr. Kosol Suriyaporn, and Mr. Bunnasomboon Chaiparinya. Together, they started covering the entire scope of legal services, including Dispute Resolution and Arbitration, Shipping and Transportation, Corporate M&A, Tax Compliance, Capital Market, Labor, IT, Infrastructure Projects, Intellectual Properties, and visas & Work Permit.

Additionally, Mr. Naiyachon and his team have also expanded their network and market by becoming a member of Ecovis International, a leading global consulting firm based in Continental Europe. Currently, Ecovis has over 9000 employees operating in more than 80 countries across the planet.

The Steadfast Leader

Mr. Naiyachon completed his LLB and LLM degrees from Thammasat University and obtained his Barrister in Law from the Thai Bar Association and lawyer license from the lawyer council of Thailand.

After completing his graduation, Mr. Naiachon worked with a local law firm in Thailand for 5 years. Then he joined Thailand’s oldest law firm, Price Sanond Prabhas & Wynne, where he mainly focussed on all commercial litigation and dispute resolution in labor disputes, international trade, trade competition, bankruptcy, rehabilitation, criminal-related economic dispute, etc. Later in 2015, Mr. Naiyachon got the opportunity to serve JTJB International Lawyers as its Managing Partner. “For my current job, I have focused on Shipping & Transportation and Commercial Dispute Resolution practices. Moreover, I also have handled an International Arbitration, Labor as well as trade competition dispute.”– he says.

Mr. Naiyachon has also been appointed as a part of the Panel of Arbitrators of the Thailand Arbitration Center. Additionally, he has been ranked as a Recommended Lawyer in Transportation Practice by Legal 500 and Distinguished Practitioner in Dispute Resolution by Asialaw Leading Lawyers 2018-22. Benchmark Litigation has also ranked Mr. Naiyachon as a Litigation Star on Shipping and Intellectual Property.

Apart from being a lawyer, Mr. Naiyachon speaks regularly for the university of Thailand, the Thai International Freight Forwarders Association, Asia Business Connect, etc.

Suggestions for Younger Self

Mr. Naiyachon believes that patience and guidance are the keys to success for the next generation of lawyers. “They should have both knowledge, ability, and experience with proper execution. Of course, genuine, capable experience takes time and cannot be rushed for; it needs to be properly nurtured.” he says, “Therefore, the new generation of lawyers who want to succeed in their careers must know the time has to be given to harvesting the experience so that the fruit can be adequately produced.”
