Tanmay Arora (23 May 1999) is an Indian musician, young scientist, artist and inventor based in New Delhi, India- known mainly for his work in the fields of Science, Art, Music and Culture. He is the Founder & CEO of a New Delhi based neurotech startup, ‘Unwired India’- which is also one of “The Top 10 Biotech Startups of India” and the “Fastest Growing Companies 2021”. A proponent of disruptive innovations, Tanmay Arora is on a mission to make neurotechnology accessible and affordable to everyone, everywhere.

Having previously contributed to a number of R&D projects and innovations at premier research labs and institutions, Tanmay believes that computers and cells are both complex machines that share concepts of pathways, networks, signals, and memory. He holds expertise in Machine Learning, Bioinformatics, Entrepreneurship, and Managerial Skills for Interpersonal Dynamics, gained from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, India. He has previously published a book on “Introduction to Shell Scripting and Python Programming” 2020, and is currently working on his second and third books. With an immense passion for recent advances in modern sciences at the interface of neurobiology and computers, he is currently employing machine learning approaches to solve complex biological problems.

Tanmay Arora is a singer-songwriter and composer based in New Delhi, India, and has had a love for Urdu poetry/Sufi and Rock music since he was 6 years old. For the past 9 years, he has been perfecting his skills, writing a wide variety of music and originals spanning across Indie Rock/Pop/Cinematic and Electronic sub-genres. His writings and compositions have received praise from around the industry and have been supported by major music publications globally. Having got recognition from the Ministry Of Culture, Government of India, he got a chance to represent India at the 14th International Festival of Language and Culture (IFLC). With over 15.6 thousand Spotify streams to his name as of 2020, he has performed at various music festivals across the country and the globe, including two sponsored tours to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, wherein he received appreciation from the Officials of the Ministry of Kazakhstan, Senior Delegates, and the Ambassador of India to Kazakhstan. Having done almost 5 advertisements for the Indian Government, his voice has been on the All India Radio for quite a while and he has made presentations before several Honourable Presidents of India, Honourable Prime Ministers of India and various other dignitaries on different occasions.

Over the past few years as a scientist, Tanmay has been re-aligning his repertoire towards Bioinformatics, Neuroscience, and Personalized Medicine studies, as he wishes to explore his ideas of ‘Technomimicry’ in the future. His work at multiple R&D and S&T labs is a testament to how he has been concertedly employing his time and energy towards directing his existing knowledge of Biotechnology towards new and revolutionary computational approaches.

As of 2021, he is currently working on a number of neuro-computational projects such as an automated alignment algorithm, based on Artificial Neural Network (ANN) architectures that can accelerate the process of finding viral mutants and variants, catapulting bio-clinical research towards finding effective vaccine candidates based on sequence similarities between SARS-CoV-2 and other related viruses. A disruptive entrepreneur in the making, he is an IFLC alumnus and has actively assisted on a number of R&D teams and projects at DRDO and IIT- Delhi, while scaling a number of business oriented ventures, that aim at integrating science and society.
