Optimised Website for Beginners

Tips for an Optimised Website for Beginners

What exactly does it mean to have an optimised website? You need to be aware of many different aspects of optimising a website. All of the changes and features you put in place will help ensure that your site is fully ready to climb the ranks of search engines and increase your visibility online.

Everyone is aware of the importance of keywords, but there are other aspects that are not so obvious. These ‘under the hood‘ aspects of SEO and optimisation refer to the technical elements that are crucial for search engine visibility but may not be immediately visible to the average user. If you are not technologically minded, understanding these aspects might just be a revelation.

So let’s take a look at some of the most important aspects of SEO for 2025 and what you need to implement.

Correct Keywords and Placement

It’s not just about using the right keywords, but also about where you use them. Placing the keyword in the page’s title tag, the URL, and the first 100 words of the content can significantly boost your site’s visibility. This strategic placement is a powerful tool in your SEO arsenal.

It’s crucial not to overuse the keyword in your content. Instead, sprinkle it naturally throughout the text, along with long-tail keywords. This approach ensures that your content remains readable and contextually relevant, a key skill in the art of SEO.

It can be a good idea to put your keyword or phrase into a search engine and check out the suggestions when you start typing for similar quotes people are searching for. You can then integrate these into your text for a more significant impact.

Remove Zombie Pages

Zombie pages are the pages you have on the site that don’t actually bring in any traffic. They are simply just there, meaning they are bringing down your site. Multiple sites have found the benefit of deleting such pages through increased organic traffic. Of course, you need to be doing this in conjunction with other website optimisation techniques, but this can be a worthwhile endeavour.

Don’t Overlook AI Search Engines

AI search engines such as ChatGPT are becoming increasingly popular, and you need to make sure that your website and content are picked up not only by traditional search engines such as Google but also by AI search engines. There is a lot of overlap for optimised websites for both standard search engines and AI search engines, but working to include JS websites in AI search results can be beneficial for your website.

Speed It Up

People have short attention spans, and they want everything in an instant. So, too, do search engines. For your website to be optimised and for improved SEO results, you need a website that is built for speed. Google prioritises websites that load faster and have informative content related to people’s search terms and queries. This means that you can have the best, most informative account on the web, but if it takes over 3 seconds to load, competitors will be prioritised over you.
