An alumnus of the prestigious University of Kansas School of Law, who finished his law degree in 1974, Steven Wilhelm is an experienced and seasoned professional with more than 40 years of legal advisory and corporate leadership experience.

With over four decades of experience practicing law, Mr. Wilhelm has certainly proven himself as an accomplished professional and expert in his field. With various firms in his past career, Mr Wilhelm began his own practice, Steven H. Wilhelm, A.P.C, in 1980. The Law Offices of Steve Wilhelm is San Diego’s trusted business law firm. Currently offering multiple services in areas of business organization, tax law, employment law, commercial real estate, financing, and Trusts & Estates Law, its primary focus being business transactional work and business litigation across the entire business spectrum. The firm takes a passionate approach on behalf of their clients, yet rational and experienced-based to achieve the best possible results for each case.

Prior to his career in law, Mr Wilhelm went against his family tradition of attending Stanford, to instead attend the University of Kansas on an academic and athletic scholarship. With an impressive repertoire of athletic achievements and as a former Olympian alternate, (1972) Steven has demonstrated his intense drive and determination both personally and professionally as he spent his first year of law school splitting his time between his studies, a part-time job, and training for the Olympics. Preceding the creation of Steven H. Wilhelm A.P.C., Mr Wilhelm was a law clerk to the Honorable Howard B. Turrentine, judge of the US District Court, Southern California District in San Diego from 1974 to 1975. Mr. Wilhelm then joined Sullivan, Jones, and Archer where his primary focus was in complex securities fraud litigation and antitrust litigation.

In 1976, Mr Wilhelm took a sabbatical to Kansas to obtain his license to practice law in Kansas, and on his return, he joined the Law Offices of Joseph St. John, where Mr Wilhelm handled complex civil litigation for the firm as well as establishing the infrastructure for the business and business litigation section of the firm.

Throughout his illustrious career, Steven has been recognized for outstanding leadership and commitment to his profession. He and his firm have been voted by peers one of the top business law firms in San Diego County, multiple years. They have also been honored by the Leading Lawyer Association, Lawyers of Distinction, and Who’s Who of Top Attorneys of North America. For 2021, Steven will be honored at IAOTP’s Annual Awards Gala for his selection as Top Attorney of the Year and will be featured on the famous Reuters Billboard in Times Square NYC. For 2022, he is being considered for IAOTP’s Lifetime Achievement Award. He is a member of the California Bar Association, San Diego Bar Association, Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, and the Kansas Bar Association. Mr. Wilhelm has had an AV Preeminent Rating by Martindale-Hubbell since 1980 and has been recognized worldwide in numerous magazines and publications
