In the business realm, success stories often emerge from the marriage of passion, creativity, and a strong spirit. One such amazing story is that of Peggy Kelley, a name synonymous with the vibrant and ever-growing event management landscape. With over three decades of work experience in event/wedding design, production, and catering, Peggy has not only created her mark on the catering and event design/production industries, but her distinctive storytelling and event experience have influenced the lives of many.
She is recognized for delivering both individual and group consultations empowering institutional and private clients to achieve their own event ambitions. Her association with Pasadena Media, a public access TV station in Pasadena, California, where she broadcasts a 30-minute wedding focused talk show, Late Nite Bride, also celebrates her skills in TV and film.
The Remarkable Journey
Peggy has an incredible 35-year legacy in innovative event/wedding design and production. In addition, she has vast experience working on and leading a wide variety of large and small non-profit, business, and commemorative initiatives. Her professional background is witness to her steadfast commitment to telling stories and crafting experiences rather than merely creating events. Her areas of expertise include event design, event planning and execution, color chemistry, a wealth of experience in non-profit organizations, including fundraising and community events, along with producing events that embody each clients’ unique “voice” and vision.
This magnificent woman kicked off her career in retail sales, which led her from Cleveland, Ohio, to Houston, Texas, during the 1978 oil boom. From Houston, she moved to San Antonio, Texas, embracing radio sales, and there she acquired a second job serving cocktails in a country western bar. She needed money quickly since she had a sick puppy, Daisy Mae, who required immediate medical attention! Surprisingly, cocktailing and tipping proved to be her solution and the door to her next career. In 1982, she moved to Los Angeles and kept working in restaurants. However, her life changed forever when she arrived to caterer an event at Walt Disney Studios in 1988. Stepping into the world of contract food service & catering, she gained firsthand experience in movie premiere magic, award show production, and large-scale event design. Above all, she gained insight into the potency of masterful storytelling in a live setting. Moving forward from Walt Disney Studios, Peggy started her museum career tour with the Getty Villa, the Huntington Library, and the Natural History Museum. Here, she was formally introduced to the world of live performances, academic and corporate conferences, galas, and fundraisers. Timeless Celebrations made her debut by creating and executing the award-winning 2007 Dinosaur Ball at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, being named one of the top ten non-profit galas of 2007.
Timeless Celebration: A Glimpse
A Timeless Celebration is much more than a special event; it is an experience. It is totally Timeless!
Timeless Celebration is a relationship-focused design and production company featuring the power of storytelling through design, décor, culinary, and live performance. Since Kelley started it after planning her own wedding, its roots are firmly planted in the social and wedding spheres.
The company proudly offers over thirty-five years of experience in event and wedding design, production, and innovative catering. The Timeless Team works closely with each couple or client from the initial concept through to the final design and production.
The Distinctive Mark that Timeless Celebrations Creates…
Timeless Celebrations is truly “Timeless”, as implied by its name. The company focuses on “quiet luxury.” They craft extremely distinctive guest experiences. They establish solid connections both personally and professionally through traditional face-to-face interactions and dialogues.
While taking the environment and financial commitments of each client into account, Kelley and her entire team work to ensure strong collaboration resulting in creativity, innovation, and ingenuity. They also offer a wealth of planning tools and long-standing vendor relationships. Additionally, Kelley’s thorough understanding of modern marketing technologies guarantees that every project incorporates personalized social media, internet marketing, and public relations assets.
Overcoming Challenges Like a Pro!
Peggy’s former-husband initially encouraged her to launch her own company, and they did so jointly to start. One of the challenges of ending the marriage was deciding whether to return to an actual “job” or to continue her business independently. Once committed, she went from being an employee to running a business to becoming the seasoned entrepreneur of today.
She has faced many obstacles, but she has overcome them with continuous education, a wealth of mentorship, plus being an active member of the global event community, which continue to be her best tools.
What Makes Peggy Kelley the Industry Pioneer in Event Management?
The remarkable woman has essentially worked in every event related role including chef, interior & floral designer, and equipment rentals. Throughout her journey, she has acquired years of expertise in many industry verticals and learned a lot along the way. She has the credentials to discuss any topic related to an event. She also has experience in relationship-based fields like community involvement, fundraising, business coaching and public speaking plus TV and media production.
From the Founder’s Desk
Every event, in my opinion, is based on a committed relationship.
- Corporate: A Company with a Product or Service
- Fundraising: An Organization and their Donors, Volunteers & Board Members
- Social Celebrations: Couples, Families, and Friends
More than ever, community and connection are needed and desired in the modern age. Together, let’s build the bridge to design interactive “experiences” that combine both technology and human interaction.
In Sync with the Latest Advancement
With a background in TV and radio, producing virtual events during COVID-19 was a natural fit for Peggy. Currently with concerns surrounding AI content and communication being a central focus, it is more important than ever to lead with authenticity and a full-service relationship-based approach.
Take on the Current Business Environment
Peggy believes in everyone’s success and abundance. With today’s creative tools, let’s all say “Yes” to the multitude of opportunities available for the many areas of businesses and social celebrations.
Unfurling the Future Goals
Infotainment is the key to today’s live events: educate, entertain, and most importantly, establish a connection with your audience. “Timeless Celebrations is dedicated to inspiring and teaching future generations in not only “what” we do but also “why” we do it. We will accomplish this by developing mentorships and providing in-person, hands-on training, Kelley further apprised.
Leaving a Legacy
From the very first event created in 2007 until today, our commitment to a “Greener” world is celebrated through our partnership with TreePeople.org. For every event, wedding, fundraiser and consultation, trees are planted in the clients or couple’s honor. Timeless Celebrations has literally planted a “forest” with the hundreds of trees donated through this essential organization.
It Takes a Village
It takes a village to create an event and to build an event career. The best part in this event story is many of this amazing team are still together 35+ years later. We can’t wait to see what is created next as we know it will truly be a….Timeless Celebration!
