Are you planning on launching a business in 2025? Launching a new business is an exciting accomplishment, but along with that, it’s bound to bring many stressful moments – unfortunately, running a business is stressful, but with that being said, there are many rewards alongside it. And by getting yourself ready as soon as possible to launch, you can reduce some of the stresses.
Every business owner enjoys the freedom they have. You no longer need to ask for a holiday, you can charge your clients what you want to charge and you get to keep all the profits. Not to mention, you are the boss, you can decide on future plans.
So how do you prepare for the launch of your new business? To start with, having a website created is very important, social media is also important and so is getting your emails set up correctly – you may want to look into DLP for email, as this is very important.
Below we look into Nine things you should think about when getting your business ready to launch in 2025.
Website created
When it comes to getting your business ready to launch in 2025, everyone’s list should include having your website ready. The sooner you get your website ready, the sooner you can start to generate interest and promote your offering. Websites are a lot easier to make in today’s world, with a lot of freelancers, offering them at an affordable rate. If you want to go with someone more expensive, you can look into agencies. Alternatively, you can give it a go yourself using a website build like Wix or Squarespace.
Social media channels
Another thing everyone should have ready before launching is their social media channels. Social media is so important as it’s one of the first things potential clients will look up about you. You don’t need to have every channel, however, it’s good to have a selection, like Facebook and Tiktok or Instagram and X. You can also sign up for channels like YouTube, Twitch and Linked-In if they are relevant to the content you are going to be creating. Remember, the more channels you sign up for, the more content you are going to need to produce, which will mean you will have to spend more time on it, instead of focusing your time elsewhere in your business. If you need support, you can reach out to social media experts who can put together a content calendar for you.
Accounts package
Keeping track of your finances is the difference between a successful business launching in 2025 and a non-successful one launching in 2025. You should sign up to a good accounts package, like Quickbooks or Xero, as these software allow you to invoice clients, run financial reports, keep track of your expenses and see how your total revenue is doing. They aren’t hugely expensive, however, they will benefit you massively and help you grow in the long run.
Employing people
Are you going to need to employ people for your business? Depending on the type of business you are going to be operating, you may need a couple of employees to run it with you. When employing, you want to give them plenty of time to learn your offering, but you need to be wary, that as soon as you employ them, they are going to be a hefty cost to your business – for a lot of businesses, it’s their most expensive outgoing. When employing, you can run ads on Facebook, reach out to recruitment agencies or pay for a listing on a job board.
Photography
Photography is hugely important, as good photography can really showcase your services. Too many businesses neglect their photography and use a phone, which can very quickly show that they aren’t investing in their offering—especially if they are selling products. By having a professional photographer capture images for you, you can then use these on your social media channels, on your website and in any marketing materials in the future. As part of your launch you may be running an event, to build some excitement. If you are running an event, it’s important to look into event photography as you can then get good photos to share with the world.
Insurance products
Unfortunately, it’s a very boring purchase and something we hope you never need to use (which then feels like a little waste of money) but it’s needed, is insurance. There are probably a few different types of insurance that you should be taking out, but the ones you require will vary depending on your offering. Office insurance is useful, personal accident insurance is also useful and so is contents insurance. Every business should have public liability insurance. When getting quotes, reach out to multiple providers to ensure you’re getting the best prices possible. If there is a particular provider you like, but they are more expensive, you could ask them to match the price for you. It is also worth reaching out to any friends or family members who you know run a business, as they may have a selection of suppliers they already use, which they can recommend to you. By using someone who is recommended, they already feel a higher level of trust.
Advertising plan
When you launch, how are you going to bring customers in? Have you put an advertising plan together to try and bring in some revenue? There are many ways that you can advertise your business, but some of the methods will involve you spending some money. For example, you could run a Google Ad campaign, you could work with influencers and ask them to advertise your offering. You could also reach out to local magazines or local cafes to store your leaflet on their premises. The more advertising you do, the more customers you are likely to bring in.
Branding
There is a lot that goes into your branding. You’ll need a logo (and a good one), you may need a brochure, some flyers, business cards, social media materials and more. The best thing to do is reach out to a freelancer as they will be able to put this together for you. You may find a freelancer who works on websites and branding, so you can trust them to do both points for you. Before working with any freelancer, ensure you ask for their portfolio, so you can see previous work. It’s also worth asking for any testimonials they have so that you can read their previous client feedback. Like with many things in life, reach out to a few freelancers to make sure you are getting a competitive price, the last thing you want before launching is to be overpaying someone for their services. If you have a large enough budget, you may want to consider working with an agency, as they will have more experience in branding.
The above seven points are a good place to get started when getting your business ready to launch in 2025. We’ve mentioned it a couple of times, however, some of the points are only valid for certain types of businesses, that being said, the majority is relevant to everyone.
