Actually, it’s almost mean to keep asking whether you still remember Clubhouse (and the numerous tweets about it). After the app triggered a real hype at the beginning of the year, it became quieter and quieter over time – in the truest sense of the word.
Although Clubhouse may now be accessible for Android and may still be exciting for certain discussions, the app has not managed to establish itself sustainably. Or are you still as active as in the first quarter of the year?
The clubhouse as an Audio Live Rooms?
A long time ago Facebook wanted to make use of the popularity of Clubhouse in the usual copycat manner and already rolled out the “Audio Live Rooms” in the USA in June.
Now the company around Mark Zuckerberg is taking the next step and, according to its own statements, is making the audio functions accessible “worldwide for public figures and creators as well as for groups” and also in Germany. For the time being, the Live Audio Rooms can only be started by creators and public figures – in contrast to Clubhouse, where everyone had the opportunity to start a discussion and thereby address topics that the creators had not discussed.
So it remains to be seen how (elitist) the Audio Live Rooms will be, whether they will only find resonance within a bubble or whether Facebook will really manage to ride the audio wave.
