Introducing Claudia Beani, a seasoned wedding planner and leader, transforming the world of destination weddings for nearly two decades. As Founder of Best Wedding Italy, she delights clients with bespoke experiences, with a blend of Italian charm, top-tier service, and a dedicated approach.
Claudia’s Transforming Journey
Claudia’s professional journey began with a robust foundation in economics, followed by a master’s degree in tourism and event management. This academic background strengthened her vision, encouraging her to pursue a career in these industries. After a year of apprenticeship in a big travel and event company near Venice, she started her own venture in 2008, simultaneously handling corporate events and incentive travel on one side and weddings under the dedicated brand, Best Wedding Italy.
Obstacles Along the Way
Claudia’s initial challenges were reaching potential customers and establishing her brand in a relatively unexplored market. She struggles to reach potential clients and position her brand in Italy, where wedding planning is still “a family affair.” However, with around two decades of experience, Claudia witnessed great evolution in the industry, and she also adapted her approach, shifting her target market to international clients.
Claudia’s Leadership Approach
According to Claudia, leadership is about fostering collaboration and empowering her team. She believes that success in the wedding planning industry hinges on working with trusted suppliers and creating a cohesive work culture. Instead of imposing her ideas on clients and suppliers, Claudia focuses on creating the right work group and empowering everyone in their own role. “Organizing an event is like running a small business, where every department has to function properly for the company to grow,” she adds.
The Guiding Principle: Putting Clients First
For Claudia and her team, customer satisfaction is the key. “It may seem like a trivial or obvious phrase, but there is no wedding planning business that is not customer-based,” she states.
The team designs every aspect of their services to address clients’ unique needs. By prioritizing satisfaction, they have created a self-sustaining cycle of word-of-mouth referrals and repeat business. Being customer-oriented means responding to their needs without making distinctions based on budget, type of service, or origin. Best Wedding Italy organizes high-end weddings across different budgets. Claudia’s vision of luxury goes beyond extravagance and unlimited budgets, focusing on thoughtful management of clients’ time and resources. Luxury is organizing an intimate event that still includes all the essential services for the client, or being able to understand, by talking with the client, their interpretation of the word “luxury.”
A Unique Philosophy: The “No-stress Wedding”
Best Wedding Italy handles every aspect of wedding planning, from a tailor-made event completely designed around their needs, and coordinates the entire event until the end. With an in-house travel agency, the team also handles logistics not only for clients but also for guests, ensuring a fast and secure booking process and recommending activities to explore the area. All this without burdening clients with tasks and contacts with guests and ensuring a stress-free organization.
Crafting Celebrations with a Unique Approach
Claudia’s approach to destination weddings is deeply personal, crafting each event around the clients, their story, and their passions. Over the years, she has organized events for diverse clientele and learned to adapt to various traditions, from Chinese and African to Jewish and Indian celebrations. Her know-how has allowed her to manage complete customization from décor and music to menu and protocol. Respecting cultural norms is essential, whether it is attire, guest hierarchy, or timeline management. She tries to make each wedding a true reflection of the client’s story and cultural fusion.
Destination Wedding Trends 2026
The destination wedding market in Italy is booming. One of the major trends Claudia has noticed in the past couple of years is definitely the clients’ choice to have weddings where the focus is on providing a unique experience, regardless of the number of guests, whether it is an intimate gathering of 20-30 guests or a larger celebration with 100 guests; the priority is giving them an unforgettable experience. Venues with on-site accommodation are in high demand, offering an all-inclusive experience. “The focus is on providing guests a unique experience that is not only about the wedding day. In our case, it is about giving everyone that Italian style that the world envies us for,” Claudia further explains.
The Major Global Wedding Challenges: Global Events
Claudia notes that working with international clients brings both ease and complexity. Clients are more prepared and know this profession well. This simplifies the team’s burden, but at the same time, the clients look for solutions on their own and contact suppliers independently. Working with new suppliers, unaware of our way of working, creates issues. Plus, language barriers and limited international exploration of local suppliers in the small towns pose challenges. Claudia and her team work diligently and dedicatedly together in bridging this gap, selecting and preparing suppliers to address the demand of global clients.
The Long-term Goal: Scaling Globa
Claudia and her team’s sole vision is to strengthen their presence in key international markets, focusing on the American, Canadian, and British clientele. They moved from only local weddings to having 50% international clientele, and over the last five years, they have 90% exclusively international clientele. The team is committed to maintaining this position by investing exclusively in promotional activities for the foreign market.
The Future of Destination Weddings
Claudia predicts destination weddings will continue to grow and adapt to global changes. Countries will be reinventing themselves beyond landscape and heritage, focusing on hospitality, supplementary activities, and logistics. After all, destination weddings bring with them a movement called wedding tourism, and the link between the tourism world and the events industry will become increasingly inseparable, with smaller towns and thematic venues becoming popular.
Claudia’s Insights for Success
Claudia advises aspiring entrepreneurs to work with passion and curiosity, stay updated, and see competitors not as an obstacle but as a benchmark for growth. She stresses that success requires full-time dedication through knowledge of the territory and hands-on experience. Building long-term relationships with suppliers and collaborators is key.
