Arihant Jain is the Chief Technology Officer of Nao Medical, an innovative healthcare startup focused on providing affordable, whole-body care rooted in preventative medicine. Nao Medical offers a range of services including urgent care, primary care, and specialty services such as psychiatry, women’s health, and nutrition. Nao Medical has 15 clinics across the New York Metro Area and provides virtual care to patients across New York State. Nao Medical’s unique technology and data science capabilities allow the organization to provide smart insights and timely recommendations that help keep its patients healthy. With its innovative technology, Nao Medical’s patients can also view their lab results alongside personalized insightsas soon as they are ready. They can quickly message their providers or their complimentary personal healthcare coordinators for support, and even request Nao Medical’s mobile medical team to visit their homes for preventative visits.
A Steadfast Leader
Entrepreneurship is built on dedication, love, passion, and a strong mindset. Successful entrepreneurs take several approaches, with innovation growing from identifying a problem and pursuing creative solutions. Since his early days, Arihant has had an entrepreneurial spirit. In 2015, he co-founded SafeStart Technologies to prevent drunk driving and help teenage drivers get home safely. For this work he won the Congressional App Challenge.
In 2016, Arihant joined the Electrical and Computer Engineering program at Carnegie Mellon University where he was actively involved as a leader on campus and as a teaching assistant for higher level software engineering courses. In addition, Arihant spent time working in Israel at Twist Bioscience, a DNA manufacturing company, as a software engineer. In 2017, Arihant developed his leadership skills as part of the admin team at Statcare Urgent & Walk-In Medical Care, where he gained valuable first-hand experience in healthcare administration and operations.
Arihant completed his undergraduate engineering studies in three years and was recruited by Microsoft as an Engineering Program Manager in September 2019, and working there until May 2021. During the pandemic, Arihant played a pivotal role in helping Microsoft’s infrastructure stay online by monitoring its networking capabilities and performance. Arihant’s focus was on developing Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning projects and initiatives that strengthened Microsoft’s security and capabilities for critical infrastructure around the world.
In May 2021, Arihant joined Nao Medical as its Chief Technology Officer to help the organization bring technology to healthcare and expand Nao Medical’s services, capabilities, and efficiency.
Providing Truly Personal Healthcare
Nao Medical was started with a singular mission – to keep patients healthy. Nao Medical’s team was personally affected by a large number of preventable diseases, and recognized that there is a significant gap between what patients should be doing to stay healthy – getting routine checkups, blood tests, cancer screenings, nutrition guidance, and mental health support – versus what they are actually doing, e.g. going to the doctor when they feel ill. Nao Medical aims to change the way people think about healthcare, shifting the approach from a reactive one to a proactive one. This mission is also focused on the communities that need this care the most. Nao Medical was established to provide affordable and personalized healthcare and serve as a resource for the local communities and residents it serves. Nao Medical’s 300 employees are all focused on providing genuinely affordable and personalized healthcare across its New York offices to bring the future of healthcare to the communities they serve.
Reimagining Healthcare
Nao Medical doesn’t view patients as a collection of body parts that need a service. Instead, it aspires to bring back a humanistic approach to healthcare. The Nao Medical team treats patients holistically, taking the bigger picture into account and promoting prevention over cure. The company focuses on supporting patients, guiding them through proper treatment while educating patients about their health and creating a meaningful connection between patients and their providers.
Looking Ahead to the Future
In the future, Nao Medical aspires to support everyone to stay healthy; to eradicate preventable medical conditions through proactive testing; and to make the patient care experience seamless with innovative technology.
