The adage “powerful people make places powerful” is clearly illustrated by some business leaders’ sheer determination and efforts. Inspiring and powerful leaders have supported transformation throughout history by triumphing over obstacles that demonstrated their force. A perfect example of determination and commitment is Andrew Doyle, Founder & Managing Partner of the Doyle Group. His mission is to equip clients with the tools they need to create high-performing teams and offer career counseling to job seekers. His initiatives include improving how businesses create their technology teams and elevating The Doyle Group to a leading position in the world of comprehensive IT consulting and IT placement solutions.
The Comprehensive Overview of the Doyle Group
The Doyle Group is a technology staffing advisory company founded in 2009 to support Fortune 500 companies as well as start-ups in overcoming their most difficult technological obstacles. Their inventive and progressive methods for locating and hiring excellent IT specialists for clients have resulted in the placement of tech talent at all levels, from staff-level engineers to senior leadership roles.
“We take pride in having access to a resource pool that can genuinely change the course and success of an organization. Our approach is based on connecting people with demonstrated skills with employers whose values are compatible. We are aware that it can be challenging to make a hiring decision based just on a CV. We understand it is not easy to find the right hire based on words on a resume. We empower our clients to focus their time on strategic roadmaps rather than browsing resumes, and we do this by focusing on corporate culture, long-term growth plans, management styles, and competence in tackling difficult IT challenges”, the visionary Andrew Doyle further explained.
The Emergence of Exemplary Leadership
Andrew Doyle has spent his career working in the IT consulting and IT placement services sectors. In Orange County, California, where he began his career 25 years ago, he worked for the largest privately owned IT employment firm in the US. He had the opportunity to work for some incredible companies there, including Pacific Life, The American Funds, and IBM, and the instruction he received was priceless. As information technology advanced quickly in the 1990s and into the 2000s, it was fascinating and always changing. In this period, he went through the “.com boom and bust.”
Although he gained valuable knowledge about the field and developed professionally, he was dissatisfied with being able to simply provide employment services that were based on commodities and was looking for a new challenge. Later, he moved to his hometown of Denver, Colorado and took a job with a smaller company that offered services in strategy, change management, process improvement, and project delivery. There, the inspirational leader discovered the importance of partnering with customers and providing genuine solutions.
After a few years working for this consultancy and as his ambition grew to take what he had learned and apply it to his own firm, Andrew founded The Doyle Group in 2009. The focus of the firm is to provide senior-level resources, some of whom come from management consulting, but in a staff augmentation model, to his customers.
The Primary Factors: Standing as an Influential Business Leader
The first step in becoming a leader is to define the organization’s mission and vision. Following that, it is essential to design systems that can grow as you build a larger team.
In order for others to comprehend the direction they are all moving in, Andrew found that you must make wise judgments that are in line with your vision. How will the organization get there if there is no outline of a destination?
Other excellent strategies that Andrew implements for promoting team growth include fostering trust, allowing team members to learn from mistakes, and supporting innovation so people feel free to attempt things until they succeed. But most of all, he believes it is crucial to be ethical and create a supportive environment so the team feels safe and confident that they can go all in and that you have their back.
The Team and Healthy Work Culture
“I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished and where we’re going.” -Andrew Doyle
Everyone at The Doyle Group knows they have a key role to play in the success of the “whole” company. The team realizes that individual success is only possible if the team succeeds, as they are so dependent on one another for a successful outcome.
Andrew strives to create an organization where his team can develop, grow, and rely on each other to accomplish business goals, which directly relates to creating more opportunities for personal goals. They spend such a large portion of their time working in their careers that Andrew has always focused on fostering an atmosphere of trust, openness, and respect so that the team looks forward to going to work each day and supporting not only their own success but also that of their coworkers.
A Highway of Successful Achievements
Shining some light on their accomplishments, Andrew apprised, “We are proud of our achievements of having been named to the Inc. 5000 four times, having been rated as one of the fastest growing privately held businesses in Denver, CO, and I’m very proud of our most recent accolade, making Denver’s list of “Best Places to Work, 2023.” I’m grateful for the path we’re on, the incredible customers we get to work with every day, and the chance to lead a brilliant, motivated team as we continue to develop in the coming year.”
Giving Back to the Community
With this successful journey of over 15 years, Andrew takes great pride in the ability to give back to the community that allows him and his team to thrive. It has been his core mission to donate to local charities, ensure his internal team is volunteering at local nonprofits sponsored by The Doyle Group, and provide a “day of service” to his team members where they can choose on their own where they want to volunteer their time. Over the years, they have donated over a quarter of a million dollars to impactful organizations such as the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Tennyson Center for Children, the Colorado Technology Association, the Red Cross, and many other local and national organizations.
The Road Ahead
Reflecting on past successes and opportunities for the future, Andrew shared, “2022 was an interesting year as we were too reliant on a singular customer and retracted revenue. We are heavily investing in sales and marketing to increase our reach, continue educating potential clients about the value we provide, and help our clients establish high-performing teams.”
Advice from the Founder
Be confident in your vision, but be open to feedback. Life’s journey is full of lessons that never end. Continue growing and moving forward.
