The creative and visionary lady behind Sight & Sound Events, Jodi Harris, is a renowned special event industry expert. She took the bedrock of the Special Event Entertainment and Production Company named Sight & Sound Events in the year 1994 and has been hailing wonders since.
Jodi is an excellent conference and educational speaker specializing in networking, marketing, social media and entrepreneurship. Members of the Las Vegas chapter of the National Association for Catering and Events have recognized Jodi Harris as the 2018 Las Vegas Event & Wedding Professional of the Year and the 2022 Event Services Professional of the Year for her outstanding leadership and service excellence. She also received 8 NATIONAL awards from NACE for her work in creating social events and corporate events. She served the Las Vegas wedding community for two years (during a pandemic & recovery) as the president of the Las Vegas Wedding Chamber of Commerce.

Jodi Harris’s Journey: The Tale of Inspiration
Jodi Harris began her career in the 1980s as a secretary for the ABC TV network’s Broadcasting Operations and Engineering department. After she gained entry, she searched for internal positions within the business in the Public Relations department and moved further.
Jodi met her husband in California in the year 1991. He was a private working event DJ at the time and was fascinated by the party part of what he did. She moved to Southern California and worked alongside him DJ-ing private events. In 1994, Jodi Harris sown the innovative seed of Sight & Sound Events in Las Vegas, Nevada, with her husband.
Overcoming the Pandemic Crisis
The worst of times was 3 years ago when companies completely shut down. An entertainment production company is in the social gathering business, NOT the social distancing business. Three years later, the leading lady, Jodi, is still dealing with staffing difficulties as many people working in the event business have left Las Vegas because they couldn’t find jobs. SLOWLY they see some movement back. They are also seeing people who sell services in FEAR. Many in the industry give away their services cheaply because they are in it for quick money.

The Secret Sauce behind her Successful Endvour
Being kind is the key to my success as a leader. Seriously being nice to people until it’s time not to be nice. A quote from Patrick Swayze in Road House. You can get people to do about anything if you’re nice and listen. Another secret to my success is the Mya Angelou quote, “people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
When asked how she spends her spare time, the inspiring lady apprised, “In my FREE time, I love my WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). That company inspires me every day with their content —storylines, athleticism-fitness, style-showmanship, event production and over business and company culture. I love to travel to Southern California, where I can chill on the beach and visit family. I also love to visit New York and just take in the sites and the amazing food and shop!”
Technological Evolution in the Event Management Industry
The advanced communication tools have made things a lot easier! There are numerous other ways that tech tools speed the process, from using Zoom to communicate with customers on a worldwide scale to using YouTube to showcase examples of their work to the intended audience to using Google Docs to edit a project. Nowadays, QR codes are accepted for among other things, fast payments Worldwide. Social media can help in building brand awareness or making connections. These are all great, and Jodi is taking advantage of these solutions to coordinate with the clients and collaborate on the projects together.
Milestones & Success Along the Way
Here, successes come in the form of REVIEWS. Those that go online and share their experiences working with Jodi and her team. The other is the awards that they win for the efforts of their work. The most significant distinction in the event industry comes from the National Association of Catering & Events (NACE). It is known as the industry’s Academy Award.
Jodi Harris won the Entertainment of the Year award for her work with the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Event. In contrast, the photography division at Sight & Sound Events won for their work with the WWE (World Wrestling
Entertainment) in 2021. These honours are a testament to the dedication and enthusiasm that each Sight & Sound Events employee possesses.
