Alex’s incredible journey commenced when he got back in touch with an old buddy he had not seen in over 20 years. After being forced to take a sabbatical due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Alex was in a unique position to re-skill and connect with a serial entrepreneur. Thus, Finxone’s core founding team was formed. The shared goal of leveling the playing field for nascent or developing fintech enterprises drove the decision to cofound Finxone. Their aim is to make it easier for these businesses to enter the market so they can compete with major players in the sector, particularly the big banks.

Alex has an excellent academic record that matches his career trajectory. Equipped with a BSc (Hons) in Physics and Astrophysics from the University of Kent in Canterbury, he created a strong foundation in science. Following his academic path, he attended Canterbury Christ Church University, where he obtained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), confirming his status as a licensed teacher. Alex studied astronomy at the University of York to expand his knowledge of the universe.

Beyond the classroom, Alex’s MLTA Summer Mountain Leader Award serves as a testament to his passion for outdoor leadership and exploration. In the past, Alex and his spouse have volunteered to care for numerous endangered tigers, lions, and leopards.

Alex continues to read books on leadership and listen to podcasts in order to further his professional and personal development as a leader. Notably, he enjoys reading the books in the S. Covey “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” series.

Within the field of aerospace engineering, Alex has left a lasting impression by managing the Mars Sample Fetch Rover deployment tests at Airbus Space and Defense and making significant contributions to the Mars exploratory missions test program. He went above and beyond to make sure the ExoMars Rover worked, demonstrating his commitment to pushing the envelope in space exploration. He made a significant contribution to their understanding of the universe as a member of the European Space Agency’s Flight Control Team, helping to determine the courses of three astronomy satellites.
