Meet Chris Allaire, the founder and CEO of Averity, a Team-Based Technology Recruiting firm with teams specialized in Data Science, Data Engineering, DevOps, Application Security Engineering, and Back End Software Engineering. Chris established Averity as a distinctive recruiting agency in New York City that not only offers the best level of service to its customers and candidates but also fosters a productive workplace culture where everyone works as a team to accomplish more.
As a company with almost 0% turnover since January 2018, Averity continues to pioneer the change the Technology Recruiting industry has longed for. Averity’s intelligent and articulate teams are specialized in GO/Python Software Engineering, Data Science and Data Engineering, DevOps, and Security. Its collaborative, supportive, and respectful environment comprises diverse people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. These differences, coupled with a great team attitude and open communication, help the organization offer innovation and unparalleled experience to everyone it interacts with. Averity’s unique team-based model combined with a people-first approach has clients and candidates successfully traversing this difficult process with trust and ease.
The Steadfast Leader
Chris started his journey in the world of Tech recruiting at Stride and Associates as an entry-level associate. He successfully built Stride’s both San Fransisco offices from scratch during his tenure. First in 2000 and the second in 2001. Despite an ongoing recession, Chris ran one of the top-producing teams in the company. Later in 2003, he moved to HomeBanc Mortgage Corp and worked there for over two years as a Loan Consultant.
He moved to New York, reconnected with a former VP from years prior, and was offered to build another Tech Recruiting practice from scratch. So, Chris became the first employee hired to create a national staffing firm for IT contractors and Full-Time Technology Professionals. During his tenure at the company, it expanded to 45 people. In 2011, Chris joined a publicly traded contract staffing firm and started its New York office from scratch. His personal client portfolio included numerous Fortune 500 companies, as well as a Fortune 10. He was the winner of the 2013 CEO Club Award and a top 10% performer in the company.
Eventually, in 2014, Chris started Averity from his dining room table to bring legitimate jobs to professionals in the IT industry. It is often difficult to find a suitable candidate to fill a position. This is where Chris steps in with Averity and assists clients in choosing the best candidate for the job based on more than just the application and résumé.
Emerging Trends
Chris believes, Robots, AI, Machine Learning, and Boolean are all nearly the same things and will never replace the personal aspect that goes into working with a trusted partner that understands and listens to what clients want and need; and why it is essential for them.
He feels although these robots, AI, and Machine Learning can be an excellent asset for recruiting teams, they can not entirely replace humans. Mostly because the human touch is one of the most important aspects of a hiring process. The hiring process heavily relies on interpersonal skills like empathy and relationship building, and technology falls short in these areas.
Looking at the Future
There is a big gap in connecting the top-tier talent within the IT and Engineering sectors. As these industries continue to grow, the demand for a sophisticated web presence, data monetization through business intelligence, and a realizable return on online advertising will continue to rise. Averity plans to fill the void left by other permanent placement and contract-staffing agencies.
